除了繼電器開關電路的標準通用發射極配置外,繼電器線圈還能連接到晶體管的發射極端子,以形成發射極跟隨器電路。輸入信號直接連接到基座,輸出信號從發射器負載獲取。

公共收集器或發射極跟隨器配置對于阻抗匹配有重要作用,其輸入阻抗非常高,在數十萬歐姆的范圍內,同時有相對較低的輸出阻抗來切換繼電器線圈。

與以前的NPN繼電器開關電路一樣,通過向晶體管的基極施加正電流來實現開關功能。
